TERU BOZU

Saint Petersburg is unpredictable city, where at the same time you can see the shining sun and feel the drops of rain on your face. It is a good time. But usually you can look in the street from your window and say I don’t want to leave my lovely home. Rain in these moments is fearsome, and has ascendency over us. But it is not so terribly if you have umbrella and rain boots! They are your shield and sword ;)

Every moment when I see the rain and I need to go somewhere, I know my foots will be in warmth, because of my watertight boots. And my umbrella will save my hair and makeup. (Though not in every case…) But anyway, it makes me more good person. I’m not angry because of weather and people can see my glow of happiness.(Very strange phrase, my dictionary sometimes makes with me strange things…And I know, my English is awful, but it doesn’t matter now, I will do my best!)

Well, in the end of my short story, I recollected one children’s song. Funny Japanese song. :)

Don’t be afraid of rain. Buy the umbrella and the rain boots, and make the Teru bozu!

Teru-teru-bōzu, teru bōzu

Ashita tenki ni shite o-kure
Itsuka no yume no sora no yo ni
Haretara kin no suzu ageyo.

Watashi no negai wo kiita nara
Amai o-sake wo tanto nomasho.

Sore de mo kumotte naitetara
Sonata no kubi wo chon to kiru zo.

Teru-teru-bozu, teru bozu

Do make tomorrow a sunny day
Like the sky in a dream sometime
If it’s sunny I’ll give you a golden bell.

Teru-teru-bozu, teru bozu
Do make tomorrow a sunny day
If you make my wish come true
We’ll drink lots of sweet sake.

Teru-teru-bozu, teru bozu
Do make tomorrow a sunny day
but if it’s cloudy and I find you crying (i.e. it’s raining)
Then I shall snip your head off.
